Financial Review: Companies, Directors face a Wave of Climate Lawfare in 2021
Time to build up an armory allowing those companies to face those lawsuits and to counterstrike. I know, managers don’t want that. They hope their current contracts will expire before it gets too nasty and until that happens they prefer to pay blood money instead of going for the fight. They should be personally and long-term liable for those decisions. If they just delay something by paying up and in the future the company in question faces even stronger action, their pay and bonuses should be retroactively clawed back. Most managers lack a spine – time to give them a replacement.
