Flue gases extract methane from permafrost while reducing emissions
Exact numbers are hard to come by and if one gets them they will most likely be off the mark. But to understand what methane hydrates represent as a potential energy source, their deposits most likely dwarf anything we have in terms of oil and gas by much more than a factor of 50. This means hundreds of years of clean energy if it can only be made commercial.
