There should be clear rules in science as in everything. Known verifiable facts should always supersede assumptions, conjecture, and supposition. If something cannot be proven beyond a certain level of doubt it’s a theory and hence an opinion. And should be clearly marked as such. And majority opinion cannot supüersede any verifiable fact. Even the most elaborate theory must be pushed into the realm of fiction if there are such facts that disagree with it. Like the Warm Periods that disagree with anything the ACC crowd says. Fact versus opinion – it’s easy.
