Forging A New Climate-Friendly Coalition Government for Germany a Daunting Task

The Germans are not ready. The last election has shown that too many people still cling to the old model of one of the traditional political parties doing what they have always done. Anyone thinking that bringing the other behemoth to power is a recipe for solving long-standing problems must be on controlled substances. We have seen that in the UK, political power has moved back and forth between the two big political juggernauts, and somehow the policies never really changed. There is no guarantee that a new movement will bring real change. It will rather be a new movement inside one of the traditional parties like MAGA did with the US Republicans.

It seems certain that the link between the economy and the climate will be removed.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
