Fred Pearce on Climategate Revisited
When that scandal broke I fully expected changes. I expected people to open their eyes, I expected activists to admit that they ran for an erroneous cause. I expected politicians and climate experts to make amends. I expected those involved to hang their heads in shame and to just go away. None of that has happened. I fully underestimated how people would go when they bought into a lie. I was naive. A younger me fully expected people to be rational and that facts and logic would always beat the madness. As said, that was foolish.
