Gas-Rich Turkmenistan Is Running Out of Time to Feed Europe’s Fuel Appetite

Turkmenistan is never going to be a significant exporter of gas to Europe. Pipelines have a price and when they go through a series of transit countries they are way more expensive still. Turkmenistan is not exactly at the doorstep and considering the high costs of transport, pretty much any LNG should be cheaper than this. You don’t have so much transit business to do with LNG mind you. Once Russia breaks up the gas-producing regions might not be in Moscow’s control either which makes this thing more complicated still.
