Gas Storage Plunges to “Concerningly Low Levels”

This is worse for the UK than for the rest of Europe as interconnection with continental Europe is limited to two pipelines and those operating them know how to make a buck in an emergency. Besides, the UK has only one big meaningful underground gas storage site in Rough. Lastly, when the UK is at a gas deficit, chances are that the rest of Europe won’t be a lot better. But Britain has several rather large LNG terminals. More spot LNG siphoned off the market pushing prices up I guess. But continental Europe has much better underground storage. They could be the gas buffer for Britain if they wanted. For a price of course.
