Industries have been going for cheaper fields for a while and high energy prices have also done their bit for a little while but what really kicks the bottom out of the barrel is that energy security starts to fail. We don’t feel it yet on the consumer level but industries feel the interruptions and it hurts them. It takes a while for old, traditional companies to leave Germany but once they do, it’s very hard to get them back. This one will not be fixed easily. Once down that path, you will stay there for a while.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
