Germany plans $216bn green energy investment to ease Russian gas reliance
It is much of the so-called green investment of the past that was responsiblöe for much of the increased reliance on Russian gas. Wind and solar need backup and when one drops nuclear and coal at the same time, one needs to beef up on gas generation. I don’t buy the 216 bn figure as long before this money is spent, ordinary Germans will have kicked politicians that refuse to turn on a heel out of office. Germany is an energy madhouse but every country has its breaking point. Let’s see how much the regular German can take.
