Global fossil fuel use and CO2 emissions to rise through 2050, US EIA projects

Worldwide? No way. Once the disaster in China starts to bite for real, energy consumption in China will fall off a cliff and remain fallen for a very long time. Many decades if China can hope for any recovery ever. Europe will largely go into a Japan-style economic depression for at least 20-30 years. Some countries will do better than the average but the big ones look all shaky. North America will go energy independent and even export so not only is the American market plugged in the future, but it’s a competitor. That’s no good news for Oil&Gas exporters in the rest of the world. And when their fortunes go down as well, so will their energy consumption.
