GM recall of Chevy Bolts will cost $1.8bn
Nobody knows how to evaluate the real risk coming from those batteries. Given, it’s still pretty rare that they blow up but when they do it’s ferocious, violent, it’s fast and toxic. Being impossible to extinguish once it burns comes as a cherry on top. But the risk is real and it might hit you while your car charges in your carport at night, it might hit you while you take a rest at the freeway station, it might hit you at any time. It’s time to take an unvarnished look at EV’s and their risks.
