Add to that that even the little data we have from the 19th century got cooked up and combed over so much that little original and useable data remains. Normalizing the datasets has destroyed anything of value that might have been in there in the first place. Plus, even today we are working with extremely limited datasets as direct observation from the oceans is limited at best. Data from vessels is not applicable as they move and conditions change which should not be in the interest of consistency. Also, about 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water which means all we have is satellite measurements and we know how faulty those are. Climate alarmists love this though as it’s perfect for making up whatever they want to make up.
