Government by Hysteria: The Climate and Covid Hobgoblins Begin to Fade

They have started to fade under Biden. Trump has only put the process into overdrive. But as I said so many times, this won’t be quick, this won’t be without a hiccup, this won’t be flawless. There is still a massive body of activists who are ready to go to extremes just to put the message out. Most of them will fade away once they understand that there are now real consequences attached to their actions. They still don’t quite believe it but some prison terms will make a ruckus. They also think that they must somehow ride through the 4 years of Trump as in 2028, a new Democratic President will reverse Trump once more. I don’t share their enthusiasm but it will give them energy to wait it out and still be nasty.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
