Of the 4 types of people, the bandit is the one easiest to calculate. They are interested in exploiting the masses, those who can be milked and shorn without delivering anything of worth in return. All politicians fall into that category, and much management as well. But so does a swarm of consultants, rent seekers, and the financial blob. The idiots have driven the system, they abused for personal benefit, to the edge. In a normal world, the bandit has an interest in keeping the helpless alive to keep milking them. But when survival is at risk, they will go for anything that gives them hope for their immediate future. If this means the destruction of the goose that lays golden eggs, they will accept that. There are no limits for them. None.
