Grid Capacity Issues Threaten Net Zero

It should really have been a no-brainer so far but it seems that even some energy experts struggle with the concept that the cost of grid extension and expansion must be borne by wind and solar only as only they need all this fancy storage and balancing stuff to equal out the intermittence. Conventional power plants produce power when it’s needed, not when they decide that now is a good time. You just need the grid to deal with consumer uncertainty. But in wind’s and solar’s case, the production side also brings a flicker factor. If only you need what costs us lots of money, at least stop the banter about cheap renewables. there is nothing cheap on them.
