Older people are much harder to mobilize for ideological catastrophic movements that claim the world will end. They have gone through multiple world-ending events in their lifetime and remember them. They know that the shrieker’s predictions never come true and that the kernel of truth if it even exists, is not so bad at all most of the time. Youth runs after every glizzy bandwagon.
