OPEC is on the up again. I beg to differ. The most vibrant market for energy will be North America for decades to come. The entire continent is on the cusp of a reindustrialization wave unequaled to anything ever. But – North America does not need OPEC very much as it has shale and can be energy independent if it chooses so. What’s left for OPEC are second-tier markets such as Europe and failing economies such as China. I know, not everyone agrees on China but wait me out – this is a disaster already happening right before our eyes. It might still take some courage to take the blinders off.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
