Holding on to green energy course best response to Trump, Germany’s Habeck says

There is only one problem with this Mr. Habeck. People usually don’t develop warm fuzzy feelings when they cannot afford their lives anymore. And when they see that across the Atlantic, a leader does things that make normal people better off and this does not happen in their own European country, local politicians have a real problem. They must act. You are a green politician of course so you must serve your minority pressure group. But your party will take a hammering at the upcoming elections so you speak for a tiny part of the electorate. Keep saying what you say and the hammering will become much worse. People are not sleepwalking anymore. They can’t afford to.
