What was the probability of Russia invading Ukraine in 2021? What was the probability of Hamas attacking Israel as it did in September 2023? What was the probability of some people steering jet airplanes into the Twin Towers? Or what was the probability that all climate predictions would turn out to be totally wrong? Or that all models used to calculate the climate would turn out to be completely erroneous? Probabilities are treacherous. It’s a game but when it comes to making decisions that matter, we should look at hard, cold, solid, unemotional facts.

Why do cops, and home and shop owners, empty their guns when shooting at bad guys? Another way to ask this is our title: How Many Times Must You Shoot To Be 95% Sure Of…
