IHS Markit report says LNG imports to Europe would be sufficient to overcome shutoff of Russia gas flows through Ukraine

Losing the gas flow through Ukraine would not be a massive hit indeed. That should be easy to cover. how about no Russian gas at all? How about Russia not delivering gas for 3 months? Back in the day when I was a gas executive, it was assumed that the two biggest gas fields in Russia, Urengoy and Yamburg, would start depleting by 2022. And anyone knowing gas knows how fast such depletion progresses. It’s more like a blip than a progression. There is a case to be made that Russia might have a gas supply problem in the immediate future. Just saying …

LNG imports will not be able to meet shortfall and the additional supply levers required if Russian gas delivery disruption spreads beyond Ukraine to all European exports.
