I’m a climate change hypocrite — but I’m making a New Year’s resolution to do things differently
I find it admirable when people make good choices for themselves. As for me, I became an almost Spartan minimalist more than 10 years ago. But I have children and they want to live differently so I have a car, a big apartment and chime in with the general society to give my kids a “non-awkward” life. I don’t want their friends to look at them in a weird way. As I don’t want to foist my choices upon my own family, I sure don’t want that for anyone else. Live and let live is what I go by. Of course, if your choices heavily impact on my life, I should have a say. But then I expect it to be proven that this thing that impacts me negatively is actually caused by whatever someone else does. Ideas and theories won’t suffice. The default situation must always be that one is free to do as he pleases unless proven otherwise.
