Is clean coal a lost cause?
We talk about clean coal and all we think of is CCS. When in fact, clean coal has been a reality for quite a while. When you have a plant that filters all the really nasty stuff out of the exhaust and only leaves the plant food CO2 in it, it has cleaned up coal. And those do exist. We are living in a period of low CO2 more or less since man exists. We risk extinction when CO2 goes too low. Human-made CO2 saved us from that fate. Coal power plants produce two things for us – stable and competitive energy and they help us rebalance the atmosphere. We should pay them for that service instead of strangling them. #CleanCoal #CCS #CO2Poverty
