Israel to begin exporting gas to Egypt via Jordan
It’s easy to forget that this pipe was originally built as an export route from Egypt to Jordan and on to Syria. It was also proposed as a possible feeder for the ill-fated Nabucco pipeline – does anyone remember that? Then Egypt went gas negative so exports halted and the Jordanians built their LNG terminal in Aqaba. And now it might be used to Israeli gas to Egypt. Quite a tormented history I would say.
