It’s better to burn gas than transport hydrogen, Rio Tinto says

I never ascribed any personality traits to nature. It’s a chaotic system with no design for me. Not everyone sees it that way and thats fine. Where I wanna get with this is that hydrogen is a pretty nasty molecule. Hard to store, hard to transport, and very dangerous in many ways. All this makes it expensive. But nature has provided a way to polish off all those negative traits. It uses carbon to make hydrogen friendly resulting in methane. We have 60 years of LNG expertise and more than a century of methane expertise. Methane is almost too good to be true – sometimes even I believe there is something greater than designing things this way.
