It’s Not Over Yet for Coal as Global Prices Surge on Hot Demand
Prices for coal have stealthily doubled over the last 12 months. There clearly is demand for the fuel that’s supposed to be single-handedly responsible for the plight the planet is in. Sure, most of that demand comes from Asia but with those figures in mind, how realistic are pledges to reduce coal use from any of those countries. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind coal power. But when one part of the world makes its energy artificially expensive while another does not, global trade becomes even more unhinged than it already is.
