It’s Past Time to Bring Critical Supply Chains Home From China
China has become a malignant player in the world’s trade system over the decades. It has not only learned to game the system for what it’s worth but it also actively distorted markets and willfully destroys competition by undercutting entire markets for years on end. Their cost of labor and business is still comparatively low as they flout any protection for its own people and its environment for monetary gain. How do you compete with such a player? Nice words and aspirations won’t cut it – that has proven fruitless many, many times. We need something that equals the counts and this thing could be a Border Adjustment Tax and anything from a country that behaves like China. Could be a sliding system but we need redress.
