It’s Very Difficult for USA to Reload Strategic Petroleum Reserve

If the US administration was able to put their blinders aside for a moment, they could see that the US has a very different kind of strategic reserve available if it really wants to. It just needs to kick out the blocks from under the shale train to allow it to go into overdrive. Domestic production that’s as distributed as shale is, is pretty impossible to knock out in one blow and that’s better than oil in the tank which can potentially be sabotaged. But that would require politicians to do things that make sense and that’s probably not in the cards.
