How callous must anyone making such a statement be? What’s going on in the heads of those people? Yellen of all people should know that such a sum would be the end of any kind of quality of life for anyone for a generation or longer. There is no more decency, there is no more common sense. Demands must be ever more extreme and outlandish. It’s a competition of who makes the most extreme demand.

Yellen said during a speech on Saturday that the price tag for a global transition to a low-carbon economy amounts to $78 trillion through 2050.
