June In Tokyo, Hachijojima Island Hasn’t Warmed In Decades
Last week, Austrian newspapers were full of a coming heatwave that was supposed to make this current week a living hell. Turned out that not only did the heatwave not materialize but even it got rather fresh. But you can be sure as hell that the predictions – that never materialized – will be taken as evidence for warming some months down the line. Thats how this data comes together – it’s not measured temperatures but its approximations, models, and predictions – no need for them to match reality. Oh, the predictions of the heatwave adorned every front page. Its lack of materialization is not mentioned at all.
