I know some individuals who have come from very humble beginnings but have climbed into the top layer of society. They were successful by most metrics we know but as they came from far below, one should assume that they should remember their humble pie days and have compassion for those they left behind. Crazy as it sounds, those who came up ditch their humble past so brutally that any semblance of understanding the plight of normal people quickly goes out of the window. Some say to be successful today requires a lot of elbows and brutal callousness. If that is true, the process might have changed them enough to enact policies that burn the masses all while promising milk and honey.
