If only the 3 billion were the end of it but there is more. Wind and solar are interruptible power sources and often produce when little is needed and don’t produce when demand peaks. This needs to be balanced by reliable power sources and those need to be on permanent standby. This is very costly and comes on top of the cost of wind and solar to the community. The subsidy orgy does not end as it’s easy to throw money that the decision maker never worked for at virtue scams. When will an opposition political party pick up on this and exploit the issue?

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
