LNG Is A Bridge To Nowhere
Hawai seems to have taken their decision – they don’t want LNG. Fair enough. But endlessly repeating the same old flawed studies that seem to show that LNG is as bad a coal will not make their arguments better. LNG cuts particulate matter and NOx emissions down to almost negligible levels and that’s no mean feat. As for climate gases, old LNG applications indeed have a methane slip problem. Try something that’s state of the art. You will be surprised.
While liquefied natural gas is often touted as a greener alternative to coal, the truth is LNG is far more likely to exacerbate our present energy issues then solve them. Hanabusa should firmly reject LNG as an option for Hawaii before environmentalists can consider supporting her in earnest.
