Low-lying Pacific islands ‘growing not sinking’
If only sea-level changes due to the addition of water would determine the waterline, all islands should suffer the same fate. All sailing. All rising. All remaining the same. But the true picture is chequered. it is because there are many reasons why coasts rise of sink.sea level due to the amount of water seems to be the least important factor as otherwise some of them would not rise so much.
