Low wind speeds mar offshore wind profits
Oh, thats how it goes. Renewable energy is really the cheapest on the planet assuming the wind always blows and the sun always shines. This never happens but how can we blame the poor renewable operators for the vagaries of the weather? They put those contraptions there and they have wished really really hard for stable wind. Now, we are stuck with those contraptions and it has reached critical mass. Yes, as long as we had just a few of those contraptions, their unreliability was flattened out by the reliable part of the net. But it’s too big now to hide. Cold, dark reality bites.
