Macron calls for an international taxation deal to finance climate efforts

Let’s translate this into plain English. Macron does not want an international effort. He wants the US to pay for the rest of the world. Looks like Europeans and the rest of the world have gotten used to US largesse. Let me fill you in on a little fact we all seem to have forgotten long ago. Do you know why we can carry our bloated welfare states in Europe without going bust? It’s because the US has paid for keeping the oceans clear of danger and providing an umbrella under which we can all thrive. We did not pay for it – the Americans did through lesser social services. This is a subsidy to the world and it will end. Macron is getting more than reckless.
