Massive release of methane gas from the seafloor discovered for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere
Methane leaks out from the ground at all times. We start to discover that most likely most methane is not even organic in origin but rather abiotic. This means that the mantle of the Earth produces vast amounts of methane at all times. Those geological processes also explain methane on Venus, Mars, Saturnian moons, and even on Pluto. The biological methanisation process seems to be an exception. This means that the methane absorbing processes of the atmosphere are way more powerful than we believed so far as otherwise methane would not be measured in ppb. All our models are wrong and hence the entire edifice of atmospheric science must be rebuilt from the ground. Including the erroneous warming theories. But those making lots of money with the chaos won’t like that.
