Mercedes and Volkswagen DITCH their EV ambitions!

They sure lost quite some money with that. But thats by far not the worst outcome of this. What they mostly lost is street cred with customers. Their most loyal buyers have been treated like criminals and with disdain and they are not going to forget. The Internal Combustion Engine was the pride of German engineering. Not long ago, any German Chancellor always proudly pointed at the achievements of the German automobile sector. Justifiably so. They were really good and could square off with the best. Now they are laughing stock and God knows how long it will take until they get their shine back. If ever. Europe is on a downward trajectory and this might take even longer to resolve than the pains of the automobile manufacturers.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
