Methane leaks from small oil wells spur call for stiffer U.S. regulation
One more way for the government to make money for nothing. The methane concentration in the air is measured in parts per billion (not million) for a reason. the ppm figure is so low that people would recognize it for the fraud this regulation is. There are myriads of methane-producing events on earth. The seas alone release volumes of methane that dwarf anything oil and gas can do. But then again a big volcano releases years’ worth of entire nations in CO2 and this seems not to matter at all. It’s a harvesting scheme, no more. Money from the people for politicians.
