Misogyny, authoritarianism, and climate change

My father taught me some simple rules. One of them was that anyone who is forcefully trying to paint another in a certain light must be looked at with exactly those eyes. People lie and make up stories all the time and if you must absolutely conform to a doctrine that you know makes no sense, you must ride out and attack anyone who provides an alternative view. Strong ideas can survive open debate, the clash of ideas and alternatives. Weak ideas can’t. Lies even less. And yes, so far this whole human-made climate change idea is no more than this. A thesis lacking scientific proof. If you must defend this, it’s obvious that all opponents must be ostracized.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
