More Nuclear Energy Is Not The Solution To Our Climate Crisis
Don’t subsidize the old ones – but give the new designs a fair chance. Nuclear is expensive in the Western world because of an interminable paper trail produced by an army of artificial stakeholders in the permitting process. Its a get rich quick scheme for a lot of suckers. They steal from ratepayers. We must start by clearing out the suckers from those that provide real value to the process.
Faced with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s latest report, some environmental leaders are all too ready to toss a lifeline to aging, uneconomic nuclear power plants. The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), long venerated as America’s most rigorous nuclear watchdog group, joined this chorus in early November.
