My new dark red climate stripe for 2024 shows it’s the hottest year yet

What an auspicious time to call for the hottest year ever. People are freezing and it’s pretty darn hard to ignore the chill. It drives heating bills up and it creeps into your jacket if there is even slight wind. But people are people and many will still lap up the Kool-Aid as if it was premium vanilla ice cream. Because some people are so afraid of what others could think of them they will go with any narrative, no matter how hard reality slaps them in the face. But why have the researchers not waited for a slightly less freezing time? Maybe they understand that it is getting colder across the board so there won’t be any good time for them anymore. Or they want to get the goods out while they still can.

These ‘warming stripes’, adopted around the world as a symbol of climate awareness, action and ambition, now include another dark red stripe for 2024.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
