Myths Paralyze Progress
Capitalism is prone to those bubbles. People want them, they like their saviors and some of those rise to almost god-like status. Until they fall – and they all fall. The most dangerous moment for a con-artist is when he starts to believe his own shit and don’t get me wrong, I have personally known people that after a string of perceived successes were so full of themselves, they literally thought that their very shit smelled of roses. The world is littered with the vestiges of men that went off the deep end and crashed in the end. But freedom-loving, Western societies are also great at recovering from those bubbles. Because Capitalism takes the shit it produces as fertilizer for the next round of wealth creation. It’s a virtuous circle.
