National Grid to drain electric car batteries at times of peak demand
Just imagine – you have invested in home charging equipment and suddenly, out of the blue, you want to enter your car to go to work and the battery is at less than what you need all because someone at National Grid made a decision. You are stranded. But let’s push that a little further. We know now that EVs may go unstable during charging and start violent combustion. Rapid charging and discharging make this just more likely. Imagine your house burns down because National Grid balanced its grid through your battery. Sounds like fun.
