Needed by 2050: 3 billion tonnes of metals to generate clean energy
The Near-Earth Asteroid Eros would weight about 60 million metric tons if it was situated on Earth. And thats a mighty big rock that if it hit us would produce consequences worse than the rock that wiped to the dinosaurs. We need 50 of those monsters in order to build those green contraptions. The missions of producing so much stuff alone would make the whole exercise futility and as those RE contraptions never live out their intended lifetimes, we will produce just as much to replace them. Sounds like hell to me.
