When I was in school I was known for being a creative writer. More than once the teacher brought me out to read my latest spout of mind. I am still living part-time in my head, my phantasy being way more colorful than reality could potentially muster. But those numbers and mind games are beyond me. Anyone who has even the beginning of an inkling of what it takes to build a nuclear power plant knows this is nonsense. I like nuclear but we will also need our fossils until a long long time from now.

The world, and the United States, are not moving towards net-zero carbon dioxide emissions and in fact, every day, we are moving in the opposite direction. Auctions of promises for emissions reductions don’t actually reduce…
