One could believe that Indians don’t live on the same planet. Clearly, they are not as concerned as many of us are about rising seas and a warming climate. Or maybe, Indian policymakers have concluded that there are real issues to be addressed, and not addressing them in an effective manner sure is no vote-getter. You cant assuage a restive population that wants power with cute but fictitious narratives about impending doom that somehow never materializes. Blackouts are much more real to them. And will be to us as well.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
