New Data Refutes Cheap Offshore Wind Claims
One thing I learned very quickly when I entered the energy world was that anything done floating on the water o in the middle of the sea is inherently more expensive than if you do it onshore. Most non-mariners have not even a faint idea how incredibly corrosive an offshore environment is. That is not to say that it cannot be done or mastered, but it will cost a lot of money. And I am not talking about a few percent more than normal. I am talking about massive cost increases. But excuses will be found for those increases – until the people just don’t buy it anymore.
