New York can’t buy its way out of blackouts
All countries, states, regions or cities that put their faith in very aggressive wind and solar expansion become leeches on the system they are surrounded by. They quickly find out that what they are doing brings massive instability into their grids so they buy when they don’t have but need and they dump into the market when they have but nobody needs it. Neighboring countries, states and regions are happy to entertain this for money which makes prices in the concerned place go higher. But this only goes as far as the neighboring grids can cope. When they stop coping or they need the flexibility themselves, it all comes crashing down. All because politicians can’t own their lies.
