New Zealand elects conservative Christopher Luxon as premier after 6 years of liberal rule

One down but if you worry that Kiwis will become a bunch of ruthless realists, worry not. The new prime minister easily passes for a hard-left liberal in most countries. New Zealanders have no real political choice and experience shows us that such situations often end in the true extremes. We have seen one such extreme but as hard as it seems to believe, there is way more extreme than Ardern out there. But, the people have shown that they are done with the climate extremists for a moment. Part of a trend? Maybe.

Conservative former businessman Christopher Luxon will be New Zealand’s next prime minister after winning a decisive election victory.
