Almost every famine during the last 100 years or more has been man-made. There is no reason for anyone on this planet to go hungry. Assuming today’s technology we could feed the world’s population with just a tiny piece of land. But agriculture is extremely inefficient in many parts of the world and crazy politics hold it back as well. Could we live in a land of milk and honey? We easily could. But humans love their misery. It’s a Brazilian telenovela. A happy world would not respond to the basic nature of humans. We want to suffer.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
